I used to believe that portrait photography was my favorite style: you can really get closer to the subject, much more than in any other type of photographic representation. I love portraying artists and musicians in their intimacy, enhancing them with lights and stage colors. When I portray someone I look for a pose, an expression, a message, something that strengthens and empowers the image, and let photography do the talking in some way. It’s a very hard challenge. Research is by its nature a long and tough path, which is why it still amuses and intrigues me.
